Jace is also in charge of the Stake Deacon camp that goes on the same time as mine, so we'll be busy next week. The banners were actually his idea and was already making them for his camp and I just stole his idea and had hime make me one too.The funny thing is that the Stake also asked my mother-in-law to baby sit our kids while we were both gone. They figured if they were going to use us both at the same time that they would find someone to watch our kids. (We would have asked her anyway.)
I'm really excited to go camping. Well, really I'm staying in a cabin with the other 2 leaders that are 5 and 8 months pregnant as well. So, I'm not really camping, but the girls and other leaders are. I hope all goes well, it's been fun planning it and Lizzy is really excited for me to go so that she can stay with Grandma Forsyth.

Well, my life has a new twist as Hayden is becoming a little boy instead of a baby. He is growing up fast which also means he is learning things quickly. The thing that amazes me is that he already knows how to be a little brother, or simply a brother....some one to tease Lizzy.
A few weeks ago we were playing in the living room and Lizzy was being silly and laid down on the floor. Hayden got a little grin on his face and quickly made his way over to her. I thought he would lay down beside her, or tickler her, things he's done before... no...he went straight for her head and lifted his foot to step on it! Really? Obviously we put a stop to that. Then, some times when Lizzy will leave the room we've caught him grabbimg her blanket and doll, things he knows are hers and she loves. He will grab them and hold them with a smirk on his face waiting for her to come back and squawk and fight to get them back. I also caught him poking her with one finger when she didn't want him to touch her, and he kept persisting. How does a 18 month old know how to be a pest, and a "little brother"? Not that he has to be little, I'm sure Ryan did the same things to me growing up.
The other thing I realized the other week is that boys like to wrestle. That's not a shock to me, it's just Lizzy has never gone through that and it's new to me. So duh... I need to wrestle with Hayden, which really is just a tickle fight with letting him tackle me here and there. It's really fun, and he likes wrestling with his dad and uncles.
What a boy I have, I love it! I just hope he gets a little brother this next time to keep him in his place or the girls will be in for a long ride.
On the softer side, Lizzy taught Hayden today to come to me with a stuffed animal or doll and a blanket and I'll wrap it up for him. Then he proceeds to cuddle and kiss it as he walks away. What a sweet boy.
Yesterday was my birthday and it was wonderful. Jace got up early with the kids and I got to sleep in. They made me a special breakfast and gave me my presents. Jace and the kids went and bought the gift the day before and Lizzy didn't even tell what they bought!! I was so impressed that she could keep a secret. I even asked them if they had gone to Wal-mart and she said, "Yup, and we bought you a present but I can't tell you what it is!!" After conference we had our afternoon naps and went to my in laws for supper and cake. Most of the family was there for Garth's ordination. He's going on his mission in August to the Colorado, Denver south mission. (We will miss him so much, but are all very excited for him.) Later that night after kids were in bed and I received phone calls from family, it was nice to visit with friends and sister-in- laws. I'm really blessed and had an awesome birthday.
We had a great long weekend and an awesome day to finish it all off. We went out to Mountain View on Sunday for a long overdue visit. D.J. and Maryanne came over in the evening and hungout. I love their kids!! Lizzy and Kenzie play so unbelievably well together I can't get over it. They are so cute playing dolls together and taking turns being the 'mommy' and being the 'honey'.
Today we (I mean Jace) got some things done for Mom and then came home after lunch. The kids were extra tired from staying up late playing with cousins and not sleeping at home that they feel asleep really fast once we were on the road. Jace made a comment on how Hayden was snoring and made the appropriate snoring sound, to which Lizzy half woke up confused and said, "Dad, I thought I heard a pig in our car!" Ah ha, she's so funny!
We came home and finished our naps, then planted some more of our garden. I love spring!!
Michelle was asked to put together a number for our Ward party we had last night so her and I found a song we could sing. It's called ":Sisters" from the old movie "White Christmas". Well, it's such a cute little song that you can't just sing it without some actions, and then you can't do actions without some kind of costume. So, this is how it turned out!
It was tons of fun. Sometimes when we practiced at home we felt like we were in Jr. High and putting on a program for our family. I love singing with Michelle, I think out voice go well together. However, we didn't even get to sing.... Michelle had a horrible sore throat and our accompanist was sick and couldn't make it. So, we lip synced it! It was fun, and even thought some may think we looked funny, the older people loved it. It made me feel like I was in B Sharps again. So fun, I love Michelle!
I'm so excited to have summer! I love that we have a back yard to play in... it's a little messy because we had to take out a tree and still plant some grass, but we love it!!! We found a kids basketball hoop at a garage sale last week for $8, we have side walk chalk and some dirt yet to be planted. It's heaven for Hayden I'm sure. The best park in the city is blocks from our house and I just found the direct rout to the sugar bowl where we can run and run for ever. We busted out the sun screen and went to the sugar bowl this morning. We will definitely put it on our list of places and parks to go to. I love being at home with my kids, I'm so lucky!
Here are the pictures from my ultra-sound a week ago. Everything seems good and the baby looks healthy and my due dates stays the exact same...September 21st.
I've been feeling pretty good, no major complaints. I really need a daily nap, so I guess there could be worse things. Lizzy keeps flip flopping between saying it's a boy or a girl. Unfortunately we couldn't find out from the ultra sound which it is. We're excited!
We'll see how long this lasts.
Looks great. Have a fun time at camp! read more
